I wish the new dept was called: The Department of Government Effectiveness.

Being efficient at the wrong things at the wrong time is still a waste. There's still opportunity cost associated with that.

    Being 'too efficient' can also mean not having resiliency. Having some 'slop' to play with can allow for resiliency (see also bus factor).

        you can effectively build a house (desired and intended result) on a beach in Florida 2 days before it is destroyed by the hurricane.
